I recently had the pleasure of visiting Puchi Marry Cat Cafe at Lalaport, and I must say, it was an absolutely delightful experience from start to finish. As a cat lover, I was eager to soak in the cozy atmosphere and spend some quality time with these adorable feline companions, and Puchi Marry did not disappoint.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and inviting ambiance. The cafe’s layout was well-designed, with comfortable seating areas that allowed both cats and visitors to interact comfortably. So, here’s a breakdown for you of our visit.

Recognizing Malaysia’s deep appreciation for feline friends, the cafe established its presence here, aiming to bring the same level of joy and relaxation that cat enthusiasts have come to expect. It is partnered with Coo&Riku which is a pet store that sells many interesting pet treats and trinkets!

Visiting a cat cafe offers a range of benefits such as stress relief, a break from your normal routine, learning about different cat breeds and maybe even a source of new social interaction where you cat meet fellow cat lover.

How To Get There

Puchi Marry Cat Cafe is located at BBCC Lalaport L4 at the outside garden area. You will need to look out for Coo&Riku if you want to get here. Here’s a floor plan of the location.

If you are driving, type in Lalaport in Google Maps or Waze and then it’ll take you there. Parking is plenty and free until 31st July 2023. If you want to make it more adventurous, you can take the public transport below:

With high windows spilling soft natural light and ambient music gently filling the air, the atmosphere is pure comfort. Visiting on a weekday offers a more tranquil experience due to fewer patrons.
  
• Cat Personalities: Some of the cats here are curious explorers, while others are eager cuddle buddies. Tempt them with treats, and they’ll reward you with their affectionate presence.
  
• Beverages & Treats: The cafe’s drink menu offers a pleasant variety, although coffee enthusiasts might be disappointed by its absence. Once you’ve made your selection, your drink is brought to you in the cat area, enhancing the overall experience.
  
• Interaction & Viewing: High, clear windows enable visitors to observe the feline antics from the outside. However, the ultimate delight lies in being amidst the cats, playing and bonding firsthand.

The Not-So-Good Parts:

• Unpleasant Odor: The unavoidable scent of urine can sometimes be overpowering, impacting the overall enjoyment of the visit. Interestingly, my experience at a Puchi Marry in Japan was less marred by this issue.
  
• Cat Condition: Some of the cats appeared malnourished and overly dependent on treats for attention. Their enthusiasm waned if treats weren’t in the equation, and this imbalance detracted from the experience.
  
• Lack of Supervision: The absence of staff monitoring children’s interactions with the cats led to instances of rough play that were concerning.
  
• Health & Hygiene Issues: Certain cats bore visible injuries, and I even spotted fleas on a few. These concerns raised questions about the level of care provided.
  
• Cat Welfare & Rest: The cafe’s extended operating hours seemed to neglect a crucial aspect—ensuring the cats had enough time to rest and rejuvenate. The absence of a rotation system left the felines with little respite.
